D. Stokes Piercy is an international award-winning filmmaker, writer, and media professor from the Appalachian Highlands of Tennessee. An adept filmmaker with an impressive portfolio of documentaries and film works, his art has been selected at over 30 festivals worldwide and garnered 14 international awards. Stokes is a published author and lecturer specializing in media culture, innovation, storytelling, and art. He teaches production, media theory, and brand filmmaking courses at a regional university in East Tennessee. Most recently, he was selected as a 2025-2026 semifinalist with the Hungarian-American Fulbright Commission. The finals announcement is forthcoming.
